POPULATION

A population is a term we use to describe a group of individuals of a specific species that live in a specific geographic area at a given time.

An example of this would be a herd of elephants in that live in Africa but another herd of elephants that live in India, both different populations even though they are the same species, within the population may include individuals that may have different genetic makeup and size.
